The resort struck a fantastic balance between relaxation, adventure, and cultural exploration. What stood out most was the staff’s dedication and attention to detail, which made my stay truly memorable.
While staying at Explora en Valle Sagrado, I noticed its location is quite far from the nearest town. This meant that any town visits outside the resort needed more planning.
Decameron El Pueblo

During my stay at Decameron El Pueblo, I found that the check-in process was slow. It took around an hour to get everything sorted and access my room.

At Royal Decameron Punta Sal, I found the amenities perfect for fun and relaxation. The resort had everything from a swimming pool and a gym to a tennis court and direct beach access. I really enjoyed the variety of six bars throughout the resort – by the pool, in the restaurants, in the nightclub, in the lobby, and even in the convention center.
The service at the resort truly stands out. The 24-hour front desk, concierge service, and express check-in and check-out made my stay smooth and hassle-free. Reflecting on my experience at Royal Decameron Punta Sal, I can confidently say that it offers great value for money.
During my stay at Royal Decameron Punta Sal, the staff at the reception didn’t speak English, which made communication challenging.
Iberostar Selection Miraflores

I had an unforgettable experience at the Iberostar Selection Miraflores in Lima. The hotel is in the lively and captivating Miraflores neighborhood. It is just a short distance from the renowned promenade that lines the cliff’s edge, providing a breathtaking vista of the majestic Pacific Ocean.
The rooms at this resort are designed with guest comfort in mind. My room featured soundproofing and air conditioning, creating a peaceful and private retreat. The blackout curtains ensured a good night’s sleep, and the additional amenities like a safe, telephone, and hair dryer added to the convenience.
The dining experience at the hotel was a definite highlight. I enjoyed meals at Otego & Huamán Restaurant and 27 Tapas, which offered an impressive mix of Spanish and Peruvian dishes. The quality of the food across these restaurants was top-notch. Post-dinner, the Lobby bar, with its elegant golden design, was the perfect spot for a relaxing cocktail.
I found the hotel’s facilities well thought out for relaxation and entertainment. The infinity and rooftop pools had stunning views, and the fitness center was perfect for staying active. The sauna and spa services provided a relaxing retreat. My stay was comfortable and enjoyable, with free high-speed internet, delicious complimentary breakfast, and other conveniences like bicycle rental and a snack bar.
The service at Iberostar Selection Miraflores impressed me greatly. Every detail was taken care of, from a smooth check-in and check-out process to the attentive staff. Reflecting on my stay, I believe the resort offers excellent value for money. The combination of its prime location, diverse dining options, and ample amenities makes it a superb choice for anyone visiting Lima.
However, during my stay at Iberostar Selection Miraflores, I found that the massages at the spa were quite pricey.
DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Paracas
The DoubleTree Resort, set on the picturesque Santo Domingo Beach, offered easy access to the Paracas Natural Reserve and other local wonders like the ‘Candelabro.’ Observing the local wildlife, like sea lions and Humboldt penguins, added a unique touch to my stay, creating a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.
The comfort of the rooms at DoubleTree Paracas was impressive. Each suite, with its terrace or balcony, provided stunning views of Paracas Bay or the palm gardens. The room’s air conditioning, flatscreen TV, and coffee/tea maker added to the overall comfort of my stay. The availability of interconnected rooms was particularly convenient for larger groups or families.
The dining options at the resort were a treat. At El Pardo al Mar, I enjoyed delicious meals, whether the buffet breakfast or the à la carte lunch and dinner. The food was a delightful blend of local and international flavors. For casual dining, the Glazz Bar offers a great selection of snacks, salads, and drinks, perfect for relaxing evenings.
With a pool, fitness center, and spa, there was no shortage of activities. The free high-speed internet and public parking were convenient, and the heated pool and hot tub were perfect for unwinding. The direct beach access was a highlight, allowing me to enjoy the peaceful Paracas beachfront.
The service at the DoubleTree Resort was top-notch. The staff’s attentiveness made my stay comfortable and hassle-free. The beautiful location, comfortable rooms, and exceptional service make it an ideal destination for a memorable and enjoyable stay.
However, I found it inconvenient that we were given only one key for our room.
Vichayito Bungalows & Carpas by Aranwa
Located on the beautiful Vichayito Beach, close to Mancora and Los Órganos, the Vichayito Bungalows & Carpas are nestled among lush trees and palm gardens. The resort’s breathtaking views of the turquoise ocean created the perfect backdrop for a relaxing stay.
The resort’s accommodations were both unique and comfortable. The bungalows and Bedouin tents provided a distinctive stay, equipped with modern amenities like air conditioning, a minibar, and cable TV. Every room had a private balcony, a wonderful spot to unwind & soak in the views.
The dining experience at the resort was exceptional. The restaurant offered a menu that beautifully combined local and international cuisines. Each meal was a delightful exploration of flavors, adding to the overall enjoyment of my stay.
There was no shortage of activities, from yoga classes to a game room, beach access, and various pools, including a rooftop pool. The sauna & spa were perfect for relaxation, and the availability of water sports equipment made beach days even more fun. For families, the kids’ club and various activities ensured entertainment for all.
The service here was top-notch. The staff’s attentiveness and the 24-hour security and concierge service made my stay comfortable and carefree. The hospitality level was commendable, making every moment at the resort enjoyable.
I noticed some drawbacks during my stay at Vichayito Bungalows & Carpas by Aranwa. The staff’s service was not very attentive, and the chalets and bungalows had a noticeable sewage smell.

During my stay at Hotel Las Dunas in Ica, I was struck by its stunning location. Only three hours from Lima, the hotel is beautifully situated between the Nazca Lines and Paracas National Reserve. The view of the lagoons and gardens from the hotel was serene, offering a peaceful retreat in the desert landscape of Ica.
I stayed in one of the 150 fully-furnished bedrooms, equipped with modern amenities like air conditioning, a minibar, a flat-screen TV, and a whirlpool bathtub. The private balcony in my room provided a lovely view of the hotel’s surroundings.
I enjoyed the inviting bar and the full-service gourmet restaurant at Hotel Las Dunas. The restaurant offered an impressive range of international and local Peruvian dishes, perfectly paired with a selection of regional wines and piscos. I was particularly impressed by the exclusive grill, where the quality of the meat cuts stood out, adding a special touch to my dining experience.
The resort’s amenities were extensive. It had four swimming pools, a fitness center, a sauna, and a spa offering various treatments. The adventure activities like horseback riding and sandboarding added excitement to my stay. The kids’ club made it clear that families are well-catered for.
However, there were some areas of concern. The staff, particularly at the reception and on the phone, seemed less welcoming than expected. My room had issues, such as the shower and air conditioning not working properly and the cleaning not being thorough.
Suites del Mar Mancora

At Suites del Mar, I enjoyed the full-service restaurant, which offered diverse dining and relaxation options, a poolside bar, and a coffee shop. The convenience of having breakfast in my room and the complimentary breakfast provided added to the ease and enjoyment of my dining experience.
During my stay at Suites del Mar, I found the variety of amenities impressive. The hotel offered parking, fitness center, high-speed internet, a stunning infinity pool with a view, and beach access. Additional facilities like children’s TV networks, highchairs, a pool, beach towels, and an outdoor pool enhanced my experience. They also provided bicycle tours, evening entertainment, a kid’s gaming area, and essential services like laundry and ironing.
The hotel’s commitment to providing a pleasant stay is evident in its range of services. The services, like the concierge, room service, and 24-hour check-in, clearly focused on ensuring my stay was satisfying and convenient.
During my stay at Suites del Mar Mancora, I noticed the pool furniture was quite old and even fell apart, which was disappointing.
Amazon Planet Tambopata Lodge

I stayed in a river bungalow, which was peaceful and quiet. At night, I could hear the sounds of the forest, and the howler monkeys were calling in the morning. My room was clean and had everything I needed. It was simple but comfortable, making me feel close to nature.
Dining at the lodge was a delightful surprise. Along with the complimentary breakfast, all the meals included in my stay were diverse and catered to various dietary needs. Each dish was a culinary reflection of the local flavors, adding an extra layer of authenticity to my jungle experience.
The range of activities at the lodge was impressive. From rafting to exploring canopy walkways, each adventure allowed me to immerse myself deeply in the Amazon’s natural beauty. The canoe trip to Lake Sandoval and the visit to the rehabilitation center were highlighted, offering unique insights into the region’s biodiversity and conservation efforts.
The warmth and friendliness of the lodge staff made a significant impact on my stay. Their hospitality made me feel like part of their family. The guides, especially Luis and Alejandro, were a fountain of knowledge, enriching my understanding of the Amazon and its inhabitants with every story and fact they shared.
While the experience was mostly positive, it’s important to note that the lodge’s accommodations are basic, with limited electricity and no hot water, which might not suit everyone’s preferences. Additionally, some activities can feel a bit rushed.
Titicaca Lodge Peru

The freshness and quality of the food, along with the careful presentation, were impressive. Every meal felt like a celebration of the region’s rich culinary heritage.
The lodge offered a range of amenities that enhanced my stay. There were various activities to enjoy, including free internet, boating, hiking, and access to water sports equipment. The non-smoking hotel also offered outdoor furniture to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings.
The hospitality provided by Julio, the lodge owner, and his wife was exceptional. Julio was not only a gracious host but also an incredible storyteller, sharing the history and culture of the Uros people. His dedication to ensuring every guest had a personalized and memorable experience was evident in every interaction.
While my stay was largely positive, some guests may find the remote location challenging, especially those not used to cooler night temperatures. However, the lodge’s thoughtful amenities and the hosts’ warmth more than make up for these minor inconveniences.
