St Lucia is a beautiful island with green rainforests, majestic Piton peaks and a bright blue sea. I’ve visited many resorts here, all offering something special for families. I’ve seen children playing on the beaches and enjoyed the sunset views myself.

During my explorations, I found that St Lucia isn’t only characterised by its breathtaking landscapes but also by the resorts that cater to the needs of families. From all-inclusive resorts with endless activities for the little ones to quiet boutique resorts perfect for quality family time, my reviews are based on personal visits and interactions.

So let’s go on a journey of discovery together and find some suitable holiday resorts for children and parents.

Best St. Lucia Resorts for Families

I’ve stayed and reviewed various resorts in St Lucia, evaluating them on key aspects such as location, ambience, dining, amenities, and service quality. I also considered guest reviews and my own experiences. This way, you get honest advice for your stay.

Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort

Windjammer Landing is beautifully situated by the sea with amazing views. The location offers breathtaking views and a feeling of seclusion. Yet it is close enough to explore the attractions of the island. The drive from the airport was a bit long and winding but well worth it when we saw where we would be staying.

The resort is chic and welcoming at the same time. Its open design and natural materials blend in with the natural beauty of St Lucia. On our walks, we discovered beautiful gardens and secret spots. Our villa was large, comfortable and had everything we needed, including a small pool.

We had plenty of dining options here. Jammer’s had a relaxed beach vibe, while Upper Deck was a little more upscale. Dragonfly gave us a taste of local dishes, and Papa Don’s had cosy Italian cuisine. Every meal was delicious, and thanks to the variety, we always found something we liked.

The resort’s amenities left nothing to be desired. With several pools, a well-equipped gym and water sports facilities, there was never a dull moment. The kids club was fantastic for the children and offered fun and educational activities. For us adults, the spa was a peaceful retreat.

I had a great time during my stay, thanks to the amazing service provided by the staff. They were always friendly and ready to help, ensuring we had everything needed. My personal experience echoes the positive sentiments found in many guest reviews. Families love the resort’s welcoming atmosphere, great service, and excellent facilities.

The only downside was moving villas twice because it’s a timeshare resort. While the staff handled it well, it was a bit inconvenient. Still, this didn’t spoil our overall experience.

Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa

The drive to Bay Gardens was an adventure, taking us through beautiful scenery and small towns. The road to the resort showed us a glimpse of St. Lucia’s culture and natural beauty. Located on a beautiful beach, the resort was the perfect spot for us – quiet yet close enough to explore the island.

The first thing we felt at Bay Gardens was a sense of calm. The resort is designed to fit in with nature, and we loved finding little hidden spots in the gardens. Our room was bright and welcoming, decorated with colours that reminded us we were in the Caribbean. Our balcony was the best spot for breakfast, with a view of the gardens and a glimpse of the sea.

Eating at Bay Gardens was a journey through different tastes. The resort has several on-site restaurants, each with its character. At the Hi-Tide Restaurant, we tried the grilled mahi-mahi with mango salsa, which was delicious and felt like a real taste of the island. The Creole chicken at Spices Restaurant was another favourite, giving us a flavour of local cuisine that we all enjoyed.

There was always something to do at the resort. We had fun trying out kayaking and paddleboarding. The kids loved the pool slide, and we relaxed by the pool, enjoying some quiet time. Watching movies under the stars at night was a unique experience that brought families together.

Our experience with the staff was a mix of highs and lows. While we met some wonderful people who were happy to share stories about St. Lucia, we faced challenges. We had to wait over 3 hours to get our room and did not always feel welcome by some staff members.

Like other families who’ve stayed here, we loved the resort’s location, the food, and the activities for families. But, the service could be better at times, which is something the resort could work on. Considering everything the resort offers, from the beautiful location to the fun activities and good food, Bay Gardens is worth the money.

Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa

Sitting right on the edge where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean, Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa enjoys a breathtaking location. It is just a quick drive away from the airport. The resort is designed to fit with nature, so you get all these lovely breezes and sounds from the sea and trees. It’s a place where you can relax and forget stress.

We booked an ocean-view room that was quite spacious. It was decorated with bright and cheerful colours, which echoed the vibe of the island. However, this tropical charm came with a red flag –  the room battled with moisture. This led to persistent dampness on everything from our clothes to the bedding.

The food was a big highlight. With names like the Calabash offering local Creole flavours and Silk providing a taste of Asian cuisine, each meal was an adventure. The Coconut Walk, the resort’s main buffet, served an array of international dishes that catered to every palate.

For families, Coconut Bay is a playground of possibilities. Here, you’ll find the biggest water park on the island, five cool swimming pools, and the fantastic Cocoland Kid’s Club. And when it was time to unwind, the Sanctuary Spa was like a peaceful oasis, perfect for relaxation. Coconut Bay also boasts an impressive sports complex where you can enjoy tennis, basketball, and more. As the sun sets, the excitement does not fade away. Instead, it continues with a range of evening entertainment and themed nights.

The staff at Coconut Bay truly made our experience unforgettable. Their friendly greetings, genuine smiles, and willingness to share stories about St. Lucia added so much to our stay. While the service was primarily excellent, there were times when the island’s relaxed vibe meant things moved a bit slower.

Like many other guests, I found that Coconut Bay stands out for its family-friendly atmosphere. My experience perfectly echoed this sentiment, with the resort providing the ideal relaxation and excitement. With a wide range of amenities, diverse dining choices, and an unbeatable location, Coconut Bay offers great value for the money.

Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

Sugar Beach is situated amidst St Lucia’s iconic Pitons and enjoys an awe-inspiring location. It offers a truly breathtaking setting, surrounded by lush rainforest and boasting a pristine white sand beach merging into the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea.

The atmosphere at Sugar Beach exudes serene luxury, seamlessly blending with its natural surroundings. The thoughtful design encourages relaxation and a strong connection with nature. Our accommodation, a spacious villa with magnificent views of the sea and the Pitons, was elegantly decorated. The private plunge pool was a definite highlight.

Our dining experience at Sugar Beach was outstanding. The Bonté Restaurant & Bar offered sophisticated Caribbean and international cuisine. Meanwhile, the Jalousie Grill provided a more relaxed dining option by the beach. Each meal was a culinary delight, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a diverse menu catering to all palates, including the children.

The Rainforest Spa, nestled within the tropical forest, offered a sanctuary of wellness. The resort’s sports and recreation facilities ensured something for everyone, from snorkelling in the marine reserve to tennis and beach volleyball. The supervised kids’ club provided us with some well-deserved alone time, knowing our children were engaged in enjoyable and educational activities.

The service at Sugar Beach was exemplary. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable, offering personalised attention and genuine warmth. My experience reflects that of many guests who consider Sugar Beach to be the ideal family destination.

The only downside to our stay was the crowded beach. Despite the resort’s expansive feel, the beach area could become busy, detracting slightly from the secluded paradise ambience.

Royalton Saint Lucia, An Autograph Collection

Nestled on the northern coast of St Lucia, the Royalton boasts a stunning setting with mesmerising views of the Caribbean Sea. It has a modern and sophisticated atmosphere, with spacious areas that blend seamlessly with the outdoors. I was welcomed by breathtaking panoramic views when I stepped into the lobby.

Our room offered breathtaking sea views, creating a picturesque backdrop for our visit. The highlight was the generous balcony, allowing us to admire the Caribbean Sea. The room came equipped with all the modern conveniences we could need.

However, we have observed some areas where the level of cleanliness could have been improved. There were signs of rust on certain pieces of furniture and areas that needed better upkeep.

When it came to dining, the Royalton Saint Lucia certainly delivered. With various on-site restaurants to choose from, we were spoiled for choice. Gourmet Marché, the buffet restaurant, offered a wide selection of international dishes. For a taste of local cuisine, Calypso stood out, with its jerk chicken being a particular favourite. The Grazie Italian Trattoria provided a comforting taste of Italy with its delicious pasta dishes.

The resort’s amenities were designed to keep families in mind, including a dedicated kids’ club that entertained the little ones with various activities. The expansive pool complex was the hub of daytime fun. The Royal Spa was relaxing, with many treatments promising rejuvenation and tranquillity.

The staff at the Royalton Saint Lucia were attentive and eager as well. Reflecting on my experience and chatting with other guests, it’s clear that the resort stands out for its location, amenities, and diverse dining options. However, there were a few inconsistencies in attention to detail, particularly concerning cleanliness and maintenance.

The Landings Resort and Spa

The journey to The Landings Resort and Spa, located two hours from the airport, is an adventure. Travelling along windy, hilly, and narrow roads was exciting, offering glimpses of the island’s lush scenery and vibrant local culture.

Upon arrival, the resort’s atmosphere perfectly balances elegance and relaxation. Located on a pristine beach overlooking a beautiful marina, The Landings exudes secluded luxury. Our stunning suite offered breathtaking views and a range of luxurious amenities. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

However, we did encounter a minor issue with the air conditioning. It wasn’t working when we arrived, making our first night somewhat uncomfortable. Fortunately, the problem was fixed within 24 hours, allowing us to enjoy the rest of our stay.

Dining at The Landings, with several on-site restaurants, was a pleasure. The Beach Club restaurant offered a variety of international dishes with stunning sea views, particularly memorable for its seafood options. We also loved the complimentary breakfast, a generous spread catering to all tastes. The Palms restaurant impressed us with its exquisite cuisine, offering a fine dining experience not to be missed.

The Landings provides a range of amenities for both adults and children. There was something for everyone, from the serene spa to the well-equipped fitness centre, tennis courts, and kids’ club. The resort’s pools and beautiful beach offered endless relaxation and enjoyment.

The service and hospitality at The Landings made our stay truly memorable. Our butler, Maverick, went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, adding a personal touch. The beach staff were also fantastic and were always ready to assist with a smile.

East Winds

At East Winds, I discovered a serene slice of St Lucia tucked away in a quiet bay. I was captivated by East Winds’ original boutique charm as soon as I arrived. The resort features 30 cottage-style suites that blend seamlessly into the lush landscape. It felt exclusive yet homely and inviting for my family to unwind and relax.

My accommodation at East Winds was a delightful Caribbean hut offering an authentic island experience. While not luxurious, the room was comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Its simplicity encouraged my family to reconnect with nature and truly appreciate the surroundings.

Dining at East Winds was a highlight of our stay. The on-site restaurant served a variety of dishes to suit all tastes, with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the seafood, which was superb. Dining under the stars in the open-air setting added to the experience.

The resort offers multiple amenities to make guests’ stay both relaxing and engaging. From yoga classes to beach and boating activities, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The service at East Winds was exceptional. The staff went out of their way to ensure we felt welcomed and cared for, adding a personal touch that made my stay memorable. Their attentiveness perfectly complemented the boutique nature of the resort.

One thing to note is the resort’s layout, especially for those with walking difficulties. Some accommodations are located up steep paths, which could pose a challenge. However, the resort also offers options on flatter ground, accommodating guests with mobility issues.

Located in the charming Rodney Bay, the Harbor Club boasts a prime spot that blends convenience with breathtaking natural surroundings. It is strategically placed and offers easy access to local gems like beaches, shopping spots, and dining havens. What sets the Harbor Club apart is its sleek, modern design and lively atmosphere.

Our room had a balcony with stunning views of the surrounding waters, providing a beautiful spot to soak in the beauty of St. Lucia each morning. The amenities were top-notch, ensuring comfort and convenience at every step.

However, we did encounter some issues with room service during our stay. The bed wasn’t always made to our expectations, and we often found items like bath rugs, bathrobes, and toiletries not replenished, which was disappointing.

Dining at the Harbor Club was a true highlight of our trip. With several on-site restaurants to choose from, each offering a unique menu and atmosphere, we were spoiled for choice. There was something for everyone, from Julia’s Italian delights to the fresh sushi at 14 North.

The range of amenities at the Harbor Club ensures there’s something for every family member to enjoy. With free high-speed internet, a well-equipped fitness centre, and opportunities for boating and diving adventures, we experienced the best of St. Lucia’s beauty. Combined with the resort’s stunning pools, these facilities guarantee a fulfilling and enjoyable stay.

The service at the Harbor Club had its ups and downs. While the staff were quite friendly and welcoming, the inconsistency in room service was a letdown.

This resort exudes a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. Our room at Starfish St. Lucia offered a comfortable retreat after days filled with sun and exploration. The view from our room was picturesque, overlooking the resort’s gardens with the beach just a short walk away. Our room featured all the essential amenities for a family stay. However, we did experience a significant delay during check-in, waiting two hours for our room to be ready.

The dining experience at Starfish St. Lucia was a delightful aspect of our stay. The resort offers various on-site restaurants, each catering to different culinary preferences. We particularly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast at the Monarch buffet, where the selection was vast and satisfying. Starfish St. Lucia is equipped with amenities catering to adults and children. The fitness centre was well-equipped, allowing us to keep up with our workout routine. Additionally, the babysitting service was a godsend, allowing us to enjoy adult time at the pool, knowing our children were safe.

The staff at Starfish St. Lucia were the heart of our positive experience. Despite the initial hiccup with our room’s readiness, the hospitality throughout our stay was impeccable. Though we didn’t experience water shortages, other guests mentioned that this was an occasional issue, which the resort managed as best as possible.
